In the lobby, nothing is more pleasant than admiring the waves designed by architect Oscar Niemeyer and its immense open space, without any pillars to detract from its architectural beauty and decoration.
At the entrance, one can admire the 12-meter-long, immense suspended lamp made of papier-mâché, in the shape of scales with ends resembling mermaid tails, by the visual artist Pedro Correia de Araújo .
In the background, attention is drawn to the “Carybé Panel,” by the Argentinian artist Hector Carybé, decorating more than 20 meters of the space. The artwork comprises nearly 300 pieces in reinforced concrete, representing the journey of migrants from Northeast Brazil, presenting a sensitive and empathetic portrait of Brazilian culture and people.
In the heated pool area, you’ll find the imposing bronze sculpture “The Mermaid,” by the Minas Gerais artist Alfredo Ceschiatti. This work, with its artistic style aligned with modernist aesthetics, faces São Conrado beach, and its lines exude incredible seduction, captivating all who pass by the facade of our hotel.
And at the top, the open-air gardens, designed by landscape architect Burle Marx, and a wall with tile panels by artist Michael Gross, enchant all who desire moments of peace and tranquility. A unique place with more than 10,000 square meters and winding trails, where nature meets stunning design.
